Although the fiberboard technology, which is the subject of cellolite, was discovered in the 19th century in the world, it was only in the 1950s that it reached the development that made it possible to work in mass production style.
Here, Selolit was first established in Izmir in 1956 with the aim of manufacturing wood-based fiber board (Duralit) and started its production activities in 1958. The facility has been the first facility to evaluate the parts of the tree that are consumed only as fuel in Turkey, excluding the parts of the tree from which timber is obtained, in the industry and present it as material to furniture manufacturers. It was renovated between 1963-1972 and moved to its new location in Manisa Organized Industrial Zone from İzmir in 1997, this time with sophisticated instrumentation adapted to the latest technology, automation with PLC and PC control systems, and one of the oldest technologies among wood-based board technologies. The update has been successful. And these technological breakthroughs of Selolit continue uninterruptedly.
There are no additives harmful to human health in the fiberboard (Duralit) produced with the technology used by Selolit. The natural resin (lignin) in the wood is used in the hardening of the board by being released with high pressure steam. The sheets produced are completely natural. Synthetic resin (glue) is not used in its production. This feature gives Cellolite fiberboard a completely natural quality that is not harmful to humans. These fiberboards (Duralites), which have been produced for years, have been and are used in the auto industry, bodywork, furniture production, upholstered seating groups, doors and cabinets in the construction industry, packaging and even in many fields that can come to mind, including bag making.
In addition to producing a completely environmentally friendly product with wood raw materials, cellolite indirectly helps the maintenance and development of forests, as the State Forestry Directorates use the wood obtained from the frequency maintenance cutting trees, which is inevitable for the maintenance of forests.
