İpek Kağıt, which was established by Eczacıbaşı Group in 1969 to produce tissue paper products that are a necessity for a modern and healthy life, and to popularize their use, started its operations in 1970 in its factory in Altınova, Yalova. İpek Kağıt has been the leader of the Turkish tissue paper market since its establishment, with the Selpak brand identified with the word handkerchief, with Solo, Silen, Service that meet the different expectations of consumers, and with Marathon and Selpak Professional brands for out-of-home use.
2012 marks the beginning of a new era for İpek Kağıt. As of February 2012, Eczacıbaşı Group acquired 50% of the shares of Georgia-Pacific, which has been a partner of İpek Kağıt for the last 11 years, and acquired all of its capital. İpek Kağıt will continue its successful work in the new period with its strong brands, valuable human resources and advanced technology. Innovative products and new geographies supported by quality leadership will be the main source of sustainable growth. İpek Kağıt Yalova factory continues to be an exemplary facility with its annual production of 105 thousand tons of tissue paper and environmentally friendly modern facilities. İpek Kağıt, which has production facilities in Manisa and Kazakhstan as well as its Yalova factory, reinforces its leadership and leadership in the tissue paper market with product development, productivity, occupational safety and sustainable development investments supported by total quality and innovation processes.
With the use of advanced technology and continuous product development studies, İpek Kağıt undertakes the mission of reflecting the developments in the tissue paper industry to Turkish consumers.
İpek Kağıt’s semi-product and product exports to more than 50 countries in three continents for nearly 20 years continue to increase. Mainly Europe, Middle East, Central Asia, Caucasus and Africa are among the export regions.

In line with its geographical growth strategy, İpek Kağıt, which took the first step into the Central Asian market with the production investment made in Almaty, Kazakhstan in 2006, and also started intensive advertising-promotion activities in Kazakhstan and the Caucasus region, has reached a position that competes with world brands today. Selpak brand continues to grow as the leader of the tissue paper markets not only in Turkey but also in Kazakhstan and the Caucasus region.
Selpak and Solo brands were included in the TURQUALITY® State Support Program in November 2007. With this program, it is aimed that both brands will achieve global success with the support to be provided from production to marketing, from sales to after-sales service.
