Manisa IP Z.E.K.I. Within the scope of the pilot project to be implemented in the Life Center, the mentally handicapped youth of Manisa, who started their business life in the sheltered workplaces operated by the leading companies of Manisa IP, will transition to the factory environment with the “Manisa IP Z.E.K.İ.+ Project”.

With the Z.E.K.İ.+ Project, which is planned as the second phase of the Manisa IP Mentally Handicapped Protected Workplace (Z.E.K.İ.) Life Center, which has been operating in Manisa IP since 2017 and is a first in its field in Turkey, the leading companies of Manisa IP It is aimed to provide the transition to the factory environment with the training and support for the youth of Manisa, whom they employ in the sheltered workplaces in Z.E.K.İ. A new model will be developed in order to support the social development of individuals with intellectual disabilities, to ensure their integration into business life, and to encourage them to be individuals who are given opportunities, produce and create their own social environment. According to the performance indicators of the pilot project, which was first planned at Z.E.K.İ., a separate center is planned to be built later for Z.E.K.İ.+.

 

Social development received full support from industrialists and local authorities. In order to implement the employment item of the Z.E.K.İ.+ Project of Manisa IP, Z.E.K.İ. Teleset Elektromekanik San. ve Tic. A.Ş., Klimasan Klima San. ve Tic. A.Ş., Vestel Beyaz Eşya San. ve Tic. Inc. and Vestel Elektronik San. ve Tic. Inc. companies signed a Cooperation Protocol with Manisa IP. Manisa Celal Bayar University, Provincial Directorate of Family, Labor and Social Services, Provincial Directorate of İşkur and Provincial Directorate of National Education are also participating in the project.

Along with the “Manisa IP Z.E.K.İ.+ Project”, which was entitled to receive grant support with the 2020 Social Development Support Program (SOGEP) carried out by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, ZAFER Development Agency was also entitled to receive support for all 12 projects it presented to the Ministry, became a successful development agency.

Speaking after the announcement of the project results, Manisa IP Chairman of the Board Sait C. TÜREK said that they are proud of breaking new ground in Turkey with the Manisa IP Z.E.K.İ.+ Project and that they, as Manisa IP, contribute to Manisa and Turkey with their social responsibility projects. expressed their pride. TÜREK: “With our project, which we have planned as the second phase of Z.E.K.İ., one more step will be taken in terms of social adaptation and integration of mentally handicapped people into working life. With our Z.E.K.İ.+ Project, 10 mentally handicapped young people will be employed with the support of our regional companies, and employment will be provided for 20 disadvantaged women along with them. In addition, we will train 200 people, 100 of whom are mentally handicapped. We will send our young people who have successfully completed the adaptation process with Z.E.K.İ.+ to the factories and we will employ new young people for the vacancies at Z.E.K.İ. Thus, we will create a sustainable employment ecosystem for individuals with intellectual disabilities.” said.

 

Sait C. TÜREK, who added that they hoped that the pilot study for mentally handicapped individuals with the least employability in business life would be a new example for all IPs, said that this movement initiated by all institutions and organizations participating in the project for the employment of mentally disabled individuals in Manisa, Emphasizing that he is sure that it will be reflected in the country, he said, “I would like to thank our regional companies and the valuable public institutions of Manisa for their support during the application phase of our project, and congratulate our project team wholeheartedly.
